Ok, winter is over, time to untarp the truck and get back to work.

Ok, I guess I dont have to untarp it after all.

I wore out a wire wheel cleaning up the frame. The old steel looks great, with the exceptions of places that are dish shaped and accumulate water. Many parts of this truck were very poorly designed in this respect.

With a little paint, you would never know it was 70 years old. I used POR-15 paint, which is very good in some respects: goes on nice with a brush, no hardener needed, very tough, and looks great. But it also has down sides: expensive, cant clean the brush, and it breaks down in sunlight. Anything that will be in direct sun regularly should be top coated with a conventional paint.
