Ok, to start with, this is a lot of work. Dont try this yourself unless you like to spend LOTS OF TIME in the shop.
The goal here was to keep the original pedals, but that is going to be the only original part of the braking system, and even that is being modified. You can buy pedal setups similar to this for around $500, and in hind sight, are well worth the money. But they do not use the original pedals.
I started by modeling much of the framework in CAD, so I could get the angles and positions right.

And after many weekends of cutting and milling (this is "my" mini-mill at work).

my wooden frame starts to look like this. I actually cheated on the main base plate here, I had that made by a professional shop. But the four arms I made myself.

It looks kind of cool when I put it all together.

This is how it looks in the truck. The pedals here look like they are painted silver, but they really are just glass beaded (bare metal).

There is still a lot left to do, but this just might work.
